Your shoes are from Primark?!!

Now, anyone who knows me realises that whenever I'm sad I buy myself cheering up presents in the form of shoes or lipstick - nothing else ever quite cuts it. Imagine my surprise when I found these beauties in Primark! I normally buy ballet pumps from Primark but never ventured into heels, these were my first purchase for an amazing £16!
The pictures actually capture quite well the gorgeous champagne colour of the glitter. Now, I know these shoes probably wont last forever and in no time the glitter will undoubtedly start falling off but for £16 it doesn't matter that they wont last for life! These certainly don't look the price I paid for them.
I've only worn these shoes once and I wore them with jeans (pictured above) a simple white vest top, Alexander McQueen scull scarf and a leather jacket - they really livened up an otherwise dull outfit.

I'm so happy with my little bargain! I know these wont be to everyone's taste but as a bit of a glitter addict these are perfect for me!

ELF 50% off Haul

I resisted buying from the first couple 50% off hauls as a lot of the time with E.L.F I'm always left a little disappointed, whether that's due to it taking ages for my order to arrive or just being left underwhelmed by products. I decided however when I received an email informing me that this would be the last ever 50% off sale  that I would pick up a couple of things I've wanted to try for a while. I didn't go crazy, I only bought a couple of things - surprisingly I've been showing quite a lot of restraint recently.

I bought a Kabuki brush to replace the crappy one I purchased from Topshop (click here to see the post) and although I've not yet used it I'm impressed at just how soft it is. 

I also bought the much loved, much hyped powder brush, which again is very soft and feels lovely I was shocked however at just how small this was.

And finally I bought the Stipple brush, I've read both good and bad reviews about this brush but I bought this to apply cream blush, it's the perfect size too!

Again I've heard both good and bad things about this HD powder but it's something I've never tried before due to being prone to dry skin - since changing up my skincare routine my skin has improved enabling me to wear powder so I'm quite excited to see if this is worth the hype!

I've also heard great things about this blush/bronzer duo - I've heard that it's extremely similar to Nars Orgasm and Laguna, from appearance alone I can say the blush is nothing like Orgasm! I only really bought this in order to reach the £25 needed to qualify for 50% off - now I've seen it I'm actually really happy that I chose to order this because it's extremely pretty.

Finally I bought the Complexion Perfection powder compact, which (although I've heard doesn't really do much and is a little pointless) I was so excited to try as I've wanted this for quite some time! I'll definitely review this and let you know what I think of this product!

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in Rose Petal

Now before I start this post I'd like to excuse the poor quality pictures, I have no idea what's wrong with my camera but they seem to decrease in quality once I've uploaded them to my computer.

You're probably thinking, why on earth am I posting about Natural Collection lipsticks after my very critical post about the shade Apple Blossom, I can't resist though the colours are so, so pretty and the £1.99 price tag is also extremely appealing!

I've come to the conclusion after purchasing the shade rose petal that the lipsticks are not dehydrating (as I originally thought) but cling to flaws and dry patches, which isn't good but then again it's hard to find a lipstick which hides rather than accentuates blemishes. 

The colour is a gorgeous pinky/peachy/coral it's unlike anything I have in my collection and I find it much more wearable than Apple Blossom, however the lipstick is still quite pale toned.

I love the colour, the finish is semi-matte it has a slight sheen but looks matte from a distance. It's also not too harsh on any dry patches though I'd definitely steer clear if you have chapped lips. I'm loving this lipstick, it's so, so pretty and it's restored my faith in Natural Collection cosmetics! 

MUA Pressed powder, overrated product.

Okay, so the title of this post is "underrated product" because although I don't really hear much about this particular product in the online beauty community 2 people I know - my best friend and my cousin - love this powder but I am really quite indifferent towards it, it doesn't really do the job I'd like it to but it was only £1 so I can't be too annoyed.

I apologise for the crappy picture this was not the easiest product to photograph! I am shade 1 if you were wondering.

MUA package there products exactly how a cheap make up brand should (like E.L.F) very simple. The particular packaging here however is unnecessarily bulky. 

You can 5.7g of product which is amazing considering it was only £1.

Now I've been using this powder purely as a setting powder over foundation in an attempt to make my foundation stay on a little longer, also since changing my skin care routine my skin has become less dry and I've found that I now have use for a face powder. 

I have no base make up on in this picture and as you can see there is a slight redness to my skin and visable freckles.

I've used the powder before (like I said over foundation) and have no experienced a problem with it, however when using it with no foundation/primer underneath the powder really irritated my skin, it stung a little and accentuated the redness. I do however have sensitive skin so this powder probably wont affect all in the same way.

In terms of coverage the pictures seem to show that it does offer a little coverage however I couldn't see a difference (or a difference for the better) when looking in the mirror. 

As you can probably tell from this post I am not impressed with the product, it makes an okay setting powder but that's about it. It's also quite messy, when swirling your brush into it more powder flies around the room than actually goes onto your brush. 

E.L.F 32 piece eye shadow palette - cheap and cheerful!

So, I've been a little naughty because the palette that I have is no longer available (I think it was a limited edition one from last Christmas) however it's only the colours which are different in the ones available now, there's nothing drasticly changed - I don't think! 

I actually have 2 of this palette one of which I received from Rowena of Cosmetic-candy and another as a free gift with purchase from eyeslipsface.co.uk. They retail at £9 which is amazing for 32 eye shadow colours.

As you can see the packaging is crap, the mirror may as well not even exist and the rubbish (single) sponge applicator just looks pathetic in the huge tray (is that what it's called). However, it's more about the product than the packaging.

Shall we move on to swatches?

The eye shadows really vary in quality, some are surprisingly lovely with a decent amount of pigmentation while others leave a lot to be desired.

Sleek Pout Polish "Pink Cadillac" a new favourite!

Now, anyone who knows me knows that I am a lover of pink lips and lip balm however when the two come together I am often disappointed due to lack of moisture or pigmentation. Sleek have managed to create a tinted lip conditioner which not only hydrates the lips and has a really good level of pigmentation but it also tastes amazing and all for £4.29!

In regards to the packaging (as you all know I'm a sucker for it) it's quite simple - by no means the prettiest but it doesn't pick up dirt or fingerprints so I'm extremely happy with it!

In the pot the colour looks extremely scary and bright however as you can see from the swatch it's actually a really pretty pink. It's not completely opaque but it does add a reasonable amount of colour to the lips which I've found is actually quite long lasting! Although the glossy finish doesn't last long - mostly because I keep licking it off, 'cause it tastes lovely - even when dried out the product still leaves a pretty tint (I almost want to say flush but I'm not sure that's the right word) to the lips.

I'm really impressed with the product and will definitely purchase other colours because this is something which can just be thrown into your bag and applied on the go. I have a feeling that I'll be using this quite a lot!

Cheap and pretty NOTD

This is a nail look which I like to covert often because it's extremely pretty and natural and is extremely unlikely to clash with an outfit!

At my previous job (Hollister&Co) make up wasn't really allowed nor was nail polish but as I hate to not wear it I'd go for a very natural looking pale pink but I've started adding a matte topcoat as it looks very pretty and makes it more interesting. For the picture I used:

• ELF nail polish "Light Pink" - £1.50 It's not the best pale pink that I've used but it's not bad for the price it does take around 4 coasts to achieve an opaque colour.
• 17 Matte topcoat - £3.99 

The products I've used are extremely cheap - I don't tend to spend a lot of money on Pale Pinks because it's a colour I use a lot and it often dries up or runs out.

£2.99 Dupe for MAC's Pink Friday? Review and swatches!

I never got the chance to buy MAC's Pink Friday lipstick but was told by Charli that this lipstick is a really good dupe. So I obviously had to have a little go just to see what the lipstick is like. The lipstick is Collection 2000 Everlasting Colour in the shade 6 Bubblegum and cost on £2.99 however there was a 2 for £4.99 offer on in Superdrug so I also bought a felt-tip eye liner review for that coming soon!

As you can see this a blue toned pink - very bright, very Barbie - I love it! I was quite worried at first that it'd make my lips look horrible with it being a matte colour however it feels quite hydrating and the pigmentation and quality is amazing for the price!

I'm definately going to try out some more colours and £3 a go or 2 for £4.99 whilst the deal's still on I think it's amazing!

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick "Appleblossom" - the £1.99 Nude

I've seen quite a lot of hype around this product in the online beauty community - I've used this product for years on and off, I hate it by the way but I want to like it so much that I'll buy it over and over just to check that I don't like it really.

The colour is gorgeous; 

E.L.F All Over Colour Stick - Persimmon (I don't like this!!!)

I bought this ages ago after reading some relatively positive reviews - after all it was only £1.50. However even though I've had this product for months I've not yet used it, I hate hate hate the texture of this product which is frustrating because the colour would make a lovely highlight!

I love the colour, it's very pretty which makes it even more frustrating that I dislike the product - it's sticky and seems to drag on the skin and it's also not the easiest product to blend. 

I don't mind the smell it's kind of chocolate orange-y which is quite nice however am I the only one who expected the product the be bigger? It's tiny - then again you probably wont need a huge amount.

I've tried this on my lips but it's just far too frosty. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can actually use this, because I really do think the colour is very pretty!

Fibre Mascaras, the ultimate lengthener?!

Dawn and Marilyn (L) Primer and (R) Mascara

I've never before tried fibre mascaras so when I saw these for just £6 each (cheaper than most hightstreet/drugstore brands) I had to try them! 

The packaging is beautiful, I've truly never seen a prettier mascara in my life!
